Drawing for Beginners

Learn techniques employed in creating realistic, three-dimensional drawings with a focus on the fundamentals and how they apply to portrait and figurative art. Receive hands-on instruction with tracing paper so that you see directly over top of your own drawing what you can improve and you can use that as a visual guide. There will be lots of verbal instruction, time to watch the teacher demonstrate, and material to draw from. Each class will build on the skills of the previous classes as learning to draw requires repetition and practice. However, you’re welcome to drop in to any class without attending the previous ones. These lessons are suitable for beginners and more advanced artists, supporting you at whatever level you’re at. It is recommended to bring your favorite materials to draw on and with, yet there will be some available if you don’t have access to your own.

Tarot Intuitive Reading

A powerful healing modality able to address any question, desire, or life theme. The cards act as a guiding light into ourselves, providing a journey of self-realization as we move unconsciousness into consciousness. Readings are one hour in length, held in a safe, nurturing space that invites emotional depth, honesty, and reflection on what is important for us to address at this time. Readings are an intuitive and creative process that involve channeled wisdom, feeling, and symbolism in support of inner growth and expanded joy.

Contact Improvisation Dance

A somatic form of dance, the workshops involve an opportunity to bring new awareness to one’s movement and sense of self. By connecting with ourselves, we can better connect to our first partner (the ground) and our second partner (the person we’re dancing with). We’ll explore our attention, our distribution of weight, our level of relaxation, and the impact of stillness and motion on our inner and outer worlds. The workshops include a time to jam (dancing with others in a free-flowing way) as well as establishing the skills of movement and self-awareness that allow us to express ourselves within the dance in a safe and fun way. https://contactimprovblog.com/what-is-contact-improvisation/
